EMI Music Publishing's acquisition of Jobete took place progressively over several years:
In July 1997, Motown founder Berry Gordy sold EMI a 50% stake in Jobete Music for $132M; in 2003, an additional 30% stake for $120M; then in 2004, the final 20% for $80M.
