The Feeding of the 5000

~ Release group by Crass

Annotation

These 12" vinyl originally played at 45rpm, later versions swapped to 33⅓rpm. Plenty of debate if this is an EP or album. Now accepted to be an album. (Don't expect anarchists to fit into standards)
Album is also backed up by a statement by Penny Rimbaud in 1986: "We named the album The Feeding Of The Five Thousand because 5000 was the minimum number that we could get pressed and some 4900 more than we thought we'd sell."

Numerous differences on the vinyl covers and track one:
Original Release on Small Wonder Records, sleeve without borders, Track 1 Asylum replaced with silence (The Sound of Free Speech) (1979)
Crass Records, borders, 'pay no more than £2.00' (1980)
Crass Records, borders, 'pay no more than £3.00' (1982)
Crass Records, borders, right border plain black (1990s)
Crass Records, borders, 'flight or drive? survive' (2017), 33⅓rpm
Crass/Southern Records, borders, right border plain black, download card included (2011), 33⅓rpm
Crass Records, borders, 'as it was in the beginning' remastered edition, distributed by One Little Indian (2019), 33⅓rpm
