Ignacio Pérez Meza adopted Luis Pérez Meza as his artist name in 1944, when he started working at XEV radio in Lexico City. according to some reports in memory of Luis Pérez Meza, one of his brothers who died when he was younger than twenty years old when he worked in a mine, and because of a mining accident. Their home city, Cosala was famous for its mines and mining activities.
Pedro de Lille who was one of the most popular anchormen in XEW imagined and made popular his most famous nickname El Trovador del Campo.
