This is the 1880 revised version, the one typically performed.
There are two versions of Tchaikovsky's 2nd Symphony:
- Original 1872 version, very rarely performed. As of 2016-04, only two known recordings, one complete.
- Revised 1880 version, the standard version that is normally performed.
The first movement was recomposed, and the original is a hundred bars longer. The 1872 version runs ≈16 minutes, the 1880 revised version runs 10–12.
